This Privacy Policy explains what information avto10.com ("avto10," "we," "us") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the information you give us when you use avto10.com:
- Account: your name, email address, password (stored in hashed form, never as plain text), phone number, state and city, and the roles you choose (buyer, seller, renter, parts seller, mechanic).
- Car listings: vehicle details including the VIN, price, city, photos, description, and the phone number and email you add for buyers to contact you.
- Rental cars: vehicle details including the license plate, prices and rental terms, city, photos, and the owner name, phone number, and email you provide.
- Rental reservations: your name, phone number, email, driver's license number, age (if you provide it), pickup and return addresses, dates and times, how you would prefer to pay the owner at pickup (if you say), and any note. We share these with the car's owner and email you a confirmation of your request. Owners may also record handover details such as photos, mileage, fuel level, and damage notes.
- Business profiles (mechanics, workshops, and Auto Parts stores): business name, photos, address, optional map coordinates, working hours, services and prices, and a description. Mechanics also provide a business phone number and, if they choose, a business email, which are shown on their public profile instead of their account email and phone. Auto Parts stores also provide a store phone (shown on their products), and optionally a WhatsApp number, store email, address, and return policy. We do not collect bank account details.
- Mechanic bookings: your name, phone number, vehicle details (including a license plate or VIN if you enter one), the service requested, notes, your preferred date and time, and messages with the mechanic.
- Offers and messages: when you contact a car seller, your name, phone number, email, offer amount, and messages. When you message an Auto Parts seller, your name, email, and message.
- Accessories orders: your name, phone number, quantity, selected option, any note, and your account if you are logged in. Our staff receive each order by email so they can contact you.
- Reviews: your rating and comments, plus the name you enter (Auto Parts and mechanic reviews) or your account name (Accessories reviews), and the vehicle you mention.
- Contact form: your name, email, topic, and message.
- AI Mechanic: the vehicles you add (make, model, year, engine, mileage, fuel type, and optionally license plate and VIN), your symptom descriptions, category, OBD code, any photo you attach, your messages, and the AI-generated results.
- Saved items: the listings, products, and other items you save.
- Technical information: your IP address, used to limit repeated submissions and AI requests (see Section 8). When you load the site, your browser also connects to the service providers listed in Section 5, which receive your IP address and basic browser information. We count how many times a listing is viewed, but we do not record who viewed it.
2. Information That Is Public
Some information is shown to anyone who visits avto10.com, without logging in:
- Car listings: vehicle details including the VIN, city, photos, and the seller phone number and email on the listing.
- Rental cars: vehicle details, city, photos, and the owner phone number and email on the listing.
- Mechanic profiles: name, photo, city, address, business phone number, business email (if added), services, prices, working hours, and reviews.
- Auto Parts products: the store name and the seller phone number and address.
- Reviews: the name you entered (Auto Parts and mechanic reviews), or your first name and last initial (Accessories reviews).
Only include contact details on a listing or profile that you are comfortable making public. Your account email, driver's license information, reservations, bookings, AI Mechanic sessions, and contact form messages are not shown publicly.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- run the marketplace and its features, including listings, rentals, bookings, orders, messages, reviews, saved items, and AI features;
- connect you with the other users you choose to contact, such as a seller, owner, mechanic, or parts store;
- send the emails that confirm your account, let you reset your password, and confirm your rental booking requests;
- review and verify business profiles before they appear publicly;
- process and respond to Accessories orders and contact form messages;
- show sellers how many times their listings have been viewed; and
- prevent spam and abuse, including limiting repeated submissions.
4. AI Features
Some features send information to Anthropic's Claude API to generate results:
- AI Mechanic: your vehicle's make, model, year, mileage, and fuel type; the symptom category; your description; any OBD code; and any photo you attach. Your name, email, license plate, and VIN are not sent.
- AI Search: the text you type into the search box.
- Selling a car: a photo you choose for VIN scanning or for a photo quality check.
Auto Parts Auto-Fill reads text from the photos and documents you upload on our own servers; it does not send them to an AI provider.
These results are generated by AI and may be inaccurate. To answer faster, we may reuse an earlier AI Mechanic result for a nearly identical request about a similar vehicle; this reuse does not include anyone's personal information.
5. Service Providers We Share Data With
We share information only with providers that help us run avto10.com:
- Anthropic, which processes the AI feature requests described in Section 4.
- Amazon Web Services (S3), in the United States (Northern Virginia), which stores all files uploaded to avto10.com, including listing, rental, product and profile photos, rental handover photos, and photos submitted to AI Mechanic. Files are not publicly accessible; your browser loads and uploads them directly through time-limited links, so Amazon receives your IP address and basic browser information.
- Railway, our hosting provider, in the United States (US East), which runs the servers, the PostgreSQL database, and the Redis cache that power avto10.com, and so processes all information you submit to the site.
- Resend, which delivers our emails: your account confirmation, password reset emails, the confirmation of a rental booking request (sent to the email address you enter), and notifications to our staff about Accessories orders, which include the order details and the contact information you provide.
- The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). If you enter a VIN on the Sell form, your browser sends that VIN directly to NHTSA's free VIN decoding service to fill in the vehicle's make, model, and year. NHTSA receives the VIN and your IP address and basic browser information.
- Content delivery networks (Cloudflare cdnjs, jsDelivr, and the jQuery CDN), which deliver icons and code libraries. When your browser loads these files, the provider receives your IP address and basic browser information.
We also share information with other users as described in Section 2 and when you contact them. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of avto10 and our users.
6. We Do Not Sell Personal Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising. avto10.com does not use advertising or analytics trackers.
8. Data Retention and Deletion
We keep your information while your account is active or while it is needed to run the features you use. Temporary uploads are deleted automatically: files you upload for Auto Parts Auto-Fill are deleted after processing (and within one day at most), and photo uploads that are never attached to a listing or rental car are deleted after three days. Otherwise, we do not currently delete information automatically on a schedule. IP addresses used to limit repeated submissions and AI requests are kept for up to 24 hours, and may appear in our server logs if a limit is exceeded.
You can delete your own car listings, Auto Parts products, and saved items from your dashboard. To delete your account or any other information, email info@avto10.com. We delete your account within 30 days of your request. Messages you sent to other users remain visible to them, shown as sent by "Deleted user".
9. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, including California and other US states with privacy laws, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, get a copy of it, correct it, and ask us to delete it. To make a request, email info@avto10.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights.
10. Children
avto10.com is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us at info@avto10.com and we will delete it.
11. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information. For example, passwords are stored in hashed form, uploaded files are stored privately and shown only through time-limited links, sensitive files (rental handover photos and AI Mechanic photos) can be opened only by the person who uploaded them and authorized staff, and administrative access is limited to authorized staff. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
